Punta Cana, Dominican Republic – The law firm Jiménez Peña joined representatives of governments, employers, and workers at the 20th American Regional Meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO), held from October 1–3 at the Barceló Bávaro Beach Convention Center in Punta Cana.
Partner Laura Medina Acosta actively participated in this important event as part of the Employers’ Group, following an invitation extended by the Employers’ Confederation of the Dominican Republic (COPARDOM). This tripartite meeting, which gathered leaders from across the continent, focused on social dialogue as a key pillar for decent work, democracy, peace, and social justice.
The opening ceremony was led by President Luis Abinader, Minister of Labor Eddy Olivares, and ILO Director-General Gilbert Houngbo, along with other distinguished figures from the national and international labor community.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of the Punta Cana Declaration, a joint commitment to strengthen institutions, promote fair labor policies, and build an inclusive and sustainable future for the Americas.
“Participating in dialogue spaces such as this reaffirms Jiménez Peña’s commitment to institutional strengthening, the promotion of fair labor policies, and the construction of an inclusive and sustainable future,” said Laura Medina Acosta, Partner at the firm.
The participation of Jiménez Peña in this forum reaffirms the firm’s dedication to contributing to the responsible and sustainable development of the Dominican and regional labor landscape.
