Katherine Rosa is a partner of Jiménez Peña, who specializes in project finance and development, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sector. She is equally comfortable acting for energy majors and project companies as she is representing international investment and multilateral banks in their capacity as lenders. She has been extremely active in the renewable energy space in recent years with experienced in project finance and development, as well as the acquisition of majority and minority stakes in project companies.  Mrs. Rosa has in-depth knowledge of regulated industries, and concession agreements, as well as financial instruments including loans and securities as well as banking and economic regulation.

Mrs. Rosa, has been a speaker for energy matters in international events like Renpower Caribbean 2019 and Renpower Caribbean Investors 2021.

Katherine holds a law degree Cum Laude from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) LLB, where she also completed a master’s degree in civil law.  She also holds a LLB master’s degree in Derecho Internacional de la Empresa from Universitat de Barcelona.

Advise the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the International Finance Corporation, as implementing entity of the Canada Climate Change Program (IFC-CCCP), Nederlandse Financierings-Maatschappij Voor Ontwikkelingslanden N.V. (FMO), Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG), and Proparco, in connection with the legal due diligence, structuring, and disbursement for a project finance, consisting in a secured syndicated loan provided to Parques Eólicos del Caribe, S.A. (PECASA), sponsored by Akuo Energy, for the construction, operation and maintenance of a 50 MW wind farm in Montecristi, Dominican Republic.

Advise Citibank, N. A. International Banking Facility in connection with the legal due diligence, structuring and disbursement
of a secured credit facility to IC Power DR Operations, S.A.S., in the aggregate amount of USD73,5MM, for the construction, operation and maintenance of Agua Clara, a 50 MW wind farm in the Dominican Republic.

Advice V Energy (a TOTAL’s subsidiary) in the purchase of 70% of equity participation in Platergas (local natural gas company) to implement a new line of business in the country.
