Maria Gabriela specializes in corporate and business law, particularly mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring and contractual analysis, as well as commercial strategy and business planning. She has represented multinational clients in the structuring and reorganization of their business interests and investments in the Dominican Republic.

Maria graduated summa cum laude from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), completed a LL.M (Masters of Law) in International Business Law from Instituto Empresa (IE), Madrid, Spain and has completed advanced studies in special contracts law and corporate restructuring and corporate transactions.

In addition, Maria has extensive knowledge of common law and EU law, having participated in the Diploma in Transactional Law and Practice at the University of Washington, Seattle, United States of America, as well as an internship at the Courts of New York, United States of America, and an internship at the Corporate and M&A department of the law firm DLA Piper in Madrid, Spain.

Advice, implementation and execution of large-scale business projects, acting on behalf of national and international entities, among which the following may be mentioned: (i) financing of energy project in the Dominican Republic; (ii) distribution and import of food and beverage products in Latin America and Europe; (iii) establishment of film production company in the Dominican Republic; (iv) financing of acquisition of Spanish hotel chain by US investment fund; (v) acquisition of majority stake in the raw material sector in the Dominican Republic; (vi) shareholding and organizational restructuring of family businesses; and, (vii) legal advice on various real estate projects.
