Melissa Bueno Ramírez is a member of the Jiménez Peña firm since 2019, working in the business department within the areas of Financial Services, International Trade, Government and Economic Regulation, Real Estate Transactions and Corporate Law. Before joining the firm, she worked in the Trade Policy Review Division of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and in the Doing Business Report of the World Bank.

Melissa is a Magna Cum Laude Law graduate from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) and obtained an LL.M. in International Legal Studies, specializing in International Business Law and in International Commercial Arbitration

In addition to being authorized to practice in the Dominican Republic, Melissa passed the New York Bar Exam and recently obtained admission to practice law in the State of New York.

Relevant Recent Experience

Provided assistance in various processes of legal due diligence, structuring of agreements, obtaining corporate authorizations and registration of securities, related to various large-scale financing facilities, by hedge funds and investment banks, both local and foreign for amounts of up to USD$125,000,000.00.

Was part of the legal team that carried out the local due diligence process for the acquisition of a participation in a Dominican company’s shares in the maritime sector, for a sum of more than USD$300,000,000.00

Participated in the drafting and review of contracts for the development of the legal structure of a waste-to-energy project in accordance with the different tax incentives established in Dominican legislation.
