Vilma Veras is a partner who specializes in corporate and commercial work. She has considerable experience in shareholders agreements, joint ventures, cross-border mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring. She also assists with estate planning, contract negotiations and concession agreements as well as tax and real estate matters.

She actively participated in the committees created by the private sector for the revision of the Law on Commercial Companies and Individual Limited Liability Companies and in the modifications produced to it.

Vilma holds a law degree Magna Cum Laude from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, (PUCMM), where she also completes a master’s degree in business law and economic legislation.

Advised Unilever in the structuring of a distribution relationship between Unilever Caribe and César Iglesias. Unilever is one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies with presence in more than 190 countries, and over 400 brands. This agreement with César Iglesias, a Dominican company dedicated to the manufacture and marketing of mass consumption products in the areas of cleaning, personal care and food, which has over 2,000 employees and 21 factories, covers third-party logistics, commercial operations, and distribution of 20 Unilever brands, ranging from food products to home and personal care products.

Assisted Grupo Ramos, domestic department stores group, in the fulfillment of a merger operation that involved the acquisition of domestic ecommerce startup alsuper.com. The integration allowed the client to enhance its participation in the online retail market. The merger was completed right on time for the group to be able to escalate its ecommerce business for the challenges brought by the COVID 19 pandemic and gave the client a significant advantage on other companies in the retail sector.

Advised Adevinta Holdco Spain, S.L. and Adevinta Iberica, S.L., (entities which are part of the Adevinta Group), in connection with the structuring and sale of its participation interest in the Dominican subsidiary owner and operator of www.corotos.com.do, one of the main Ecommerce Platforms in the Dominican Republic to a domestic investors group.
