Rosa (Lisa) Díaz is a partner in charge of the firm’s litigation and labour departments. She specializes in litigation and alternative dispute resolution of civil, commercial, and labour matters, as well specialized jurisdictions such as administrative, real estate, criminal, and appellate courts.  Likewise, she oversees regulatory affairs in the field of civil aviation. She has experience in consumer rights, sports, tourism, among others.

Relevant Recent Experience

Representation of AIC International Investment Limited involves multiple foreclosure procedures for approximately 126 properties, pursuing the collection of over US$64 million. It has been a complex process considering the people involved, the number of defendants (which are over 40), as well as the amount and complexity of the incidental actions filed by third parties to prevent the foreclosure of the properties. Up to this date, JP has been successful in the recovery of approximately 85% of AIC’s credit.

Successfully assisted ADM in the collection of the global amount of over US$10MM in hands of three different debtors. The collection actions have included foreclosure procedures, with multiple incidental actions. In addition, a criminal complaint was filed against one of the debtors by ADM, with positive results. JP has recovered over 80% of the debts, and the rest is on ongoing processes..

Damages claim for approximately US$6 million, filed by Mapfre BHD Seguros, S.A. against Pirotécnica del Caribe, S.R.L., based on the fire that caused serious damages to the policyholder’s facilities. The firm has obtained favourable decisions for the client from the First Instance Court and the Court of Appeals, whereby the claim was fully accepted. The process also involves a claim for the lifting of the corporate veil of other companies related to defendant to pursue the judgment collection against them.

Assisted Royce Corporation Caribbean. Recycling, S.R.L. filed a request for commercial restructuring before the Restructuring and Liquidation Court of First Instance of the National District. In this process the firm has defended the credit of the client, Royce Corporation, as an acknowledged creditor in the process.
